India became a net exporter of finished steel during the first eleven months of fiscal year 2025-26, according to provisional government data cited by Reuters.
Finished steel exports increased 36.6pct YoY to 6.02 mln tons during April-February, while imports declined 37.4pct YoY to 5.6 mln tons over the same period.
Meanwhile, crude steel production rose 11.2pct YoY to 153.61 mln tons, while finished steel consumption increased 7.2pct to 147.7 mln tons, reflecting continued growth in domestic demand.
