UAE-based steel and building materials producer EMSTEEL reported improved operational performance in 2025, supported by strong domestic demand and higher finished steel production.
The company’s crude steel production increased 4.5pct YoY to 3.40 mln tons, compared with 3.25 mln tons in 2024. Finished steel output rose 16.4pct YoY to 3.30 mln tons, up from 2.86 mln tons a year earlier.
In terms of sales, total steel sales volumes increased 7.1pct YoY to 3.32 mln tons in 2025. Finished steel sales grew 15.7pct to 3.30 mln tons, while billet sales declined sharply to 24,000 tons from 252,000 tons in 2024.
Among finished products, rebar sales rose 23.9pct to 2.19 mln tons, while wire rod and rebar in coil sales increased 9.4pct to 535,000 tons. Heavy sections and sheet piles sales declined 3.8pct to 567,000 tons.
Domestic demand remained the primary driver of sales, with 90pct of steel sales volumes generated in the UAE market, while exports accounted for around 10pct.
Beyond steel, the company reported cement and clinker sales volumes of 3.5 mln tons in 2025, up 8pct YoY.
Financially, EMSTEEL reported revenue of AED 8.94 billion in 2025, compared with AED 8.34 billion (USD 2.27 bln) in 2024. Net profit after tax reached AED 522.6 mln (USD 142.3 mln), rising from AED 392.4 mln a year earlier.
The company’s steel division generated AED 7.99 billion (USD 2.17 bln) in revenue in 2025, up from AED 7.58 billion in 2024, while profit before tax increased to AED 424.4 mln (USD 115.5 mln) compared with AED 287.3 mln in the previous year.
Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, EMSTEEL has an annual production capacity of 3.5 mln tons of steel and 4.6 mln tons of cement. Its steel segment, Emirates Steel, produces wire rod, rebar, heavy sections and sheet piles.
