Saudi Arabia-based East Pipes Integrated Company for Industry has approved the establishment of a new external steel pipe coating line at its pipe coating plant in the Second Industrial City in Dammam.
The project, valued at around SAR 78.5 mln (USD 21 mln), will be financed through the company’s available cash, bank facilities, and other financing programs.
The expansion is expected to double the plant’s nominal coating capacity from around 4 mln to 8 mln square meters per year, enabling the company to meet rising market demand and strengthen its competitive position.
The project started in February 2026, with pilot and commercial production expected in the first quarter of the FY2028. The pilot production phase will last one month. Contracts for the supply of machinery and equipment will be signed with several parties.
Founded in 2010, East Pipes operates a helical spiral arc welded (HSAW) pipe plant in Dammam with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons. The facility can produce pipes up to 18.2 meters long, with wall thicknesses of 6-25.4 mm, diameters of 20-100 inches, and grades up to API X80.
