China’s steel exports reached 10.49 mln tons in September 2026, up 0.3pct YoY and 3.3pct from August, according to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs (GACC).
Despite the monthly increase, cumulative exports declined 2.6pct YoY to 85.64 mln tons during January-September, compared with 87.96 mln tons in the same period of 2025.
Meanwhile, China’s iron ore imports fell 5.5pct YoY to 109.82 mln tons in September, although they increased 1.2pct from the previous month. Total imports during January-September rose 4.1pct YoY to 954.97 mln tons.
