Turkey’s iron ore imports reached approximately 8.8 mln tons in the first ten months of 2024, marking a 22pct increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Brazil was the top supplier, providing 4.69 mln tons, followed by Ukraine with 1.1 mln tons and Sweden with 990,000 tons.
In October 2024, Turkey imported around 672,000 tons of iron ore, a 13pct decline YoY and a 35% drop compared to the previous month.
