Suzlon’s wind power project to support Jindal Steel’s energy needs

Suzlon Group has secured a 302.4-megawatt (MW) wind power project from Jindal Renewables, following a 400-MW wind power deal with the same company just over a month ago.

Both projects will be located in the Koppal region of Karnataka, with the energy produced set to supply Jindal Steel’s plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha. This will help the steelmaker reduce emissions and integrate renewable energy into its operations.

The agreement was signed between Suzlon and JSP Green Wind 1, a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables. Bharat Saxena, President of Jindal Renewables, highlighted the project’s alignment with the company’s commitment to decarbonizing the steel industry and advancing its broader sustainability goals.
