India’s Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced that its Minerals & Metals (M&M) business has secured a contract to build a pellet plant and a direct reduction iron (DRI) plant in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. The company disclosed the order in a stock exchange filing but did not reveal the client or the specific country.
L&T stated that the project is part of an expansion contract awarded earlier by a major regional steel producer. The scope of work includes the design and construction of the pellet and DRI plants, covering engineering, procurement, erection, and construction. The order is classified as “major,” indicating a value between USD 574 mln and USD 1.15 bln.
