SAIL posts strong sales growth in Nov 2025

India’s state-owned Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) reported a 27pct YoY increase in sales in November 2025, supported by strong performance across retail and domestic channels, the company said.

The company’s retail sales surged 69pct YoY to 140,000 tons in November, up from 84,000 tons a year earlier. SAIL said growth was driven by higher domestic saleable steel volumes, increased road dispatches and warehouse deliveries, with the company emerging as the country’s top seller of TMT bars during the month.

For the April-November 2025 period, SAIL recorded cumulative sales of 12.7 mln tons, a 14pct increase compared with 11.1 mln tons in the same period last year. The company attributed the performance to a focused sales strategy and sustained market engagement despite global price pressures, demand volatility, and geopolitical uncertainties.

Retail channel sales over the April-November period rose 13pct YoY, supported by ongoing nationwide brand promotion initiatives.

SAIL currently produces around 20.6 mln tons of crude steel annually and is targeting an expansion to 35 mln tons per year by FY2031. The company operates five integrated steel plants and three special steel plants across India, producing a wide range of flat, long, special, and railway steel products.
