The United States has finalized anti-dumping duty (AD) rates on coated steel imports from Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, along with eight other supplying countries, according to a notice issued by the International Trade Administration, part of the US Department of Commerce.
For Turkish exporters, the US set weighted-average dumping margins of 6.48pct for Borcelik Celik, ArcelorMittal Celik Ticaret, Bamesa Celik Servis, and Bamesa Muradiye Demir Celik. Yildiz Demir Celik and Yildiz Entegre Agac face a higher margin of 10.49pct, while all other Turkish exporters are subject to a duty of 8.06pct.
In the UAE, Al Ghurair Iron & Steel received a dumping margin of 7.2pct, while United Iron & Steel Company / United Metal Coating was assigned a significantly higher rate of 16.38pct. All other Emirati coated steel producers will face an 8.4pct duty.
According to the United States International Trade Commission, U.S. imports of coated steel products from Turkey totaled approximately 140,700 tons in 2022, before falling sharply to around 11,400 tons in 2023, and then recovering to about 56,300 tons in 2024. Imports from the UAE amounted to roughly 95,900 tons in 2022, eased to around 70,100 tons in 2023, and increased significantly to approximately 110,600 tons in 2024.

In addition to anti-dumping measures, the US also imposed countervailing duty (CVD) orders on coated steel imports from Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Vietnam, with rates ranging from 0.3pct to 257.83pct, depending on the producer.
The orders cover certain corrosion-resistant flat steel products, including galvanized and other metal-coated steel, whether in coils or straight lengths, and whether painted, laminated, or plastic-coated.
