Alleima has begun local production of two high-performance stainless steel grades, SAF 2906 and SAF 3006, at its facility in Mehsana, Gujarat.
The advanced alloys are designed for applications requiring high corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. SAF 2906 is developed for urea production plants, while SAF 3006, a super duplex stainless steel, is used in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, and marine industries. Both grades offer strong resistance to harsh environments, helping reduce maintenance, extend equipment life, and lower total ownership costs.
India has been a key market for Alleima since 1983, and the Mehsana plant has evolved into an important regional manufacturing hub with advanced testing and quality assurance capabilities.
The company said local production aligns with India’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives, supporting industrial self-reliance and growing demand for high-performance materials linked to the energy transition.
Headquartered in Sandviken, Sweden, Alleima is a global producer of advanced stainless steels, special alloys, and industrial heating solutions.
